Radi imamo Speedyja in on nas!

Sold as a ‘mini-pig’ when he was very young (taken away from his mother when he was less than two months old – much too early!). The owners were told that he wouldn’t grow much bigger, and that he could simply be trained like a dog to curl up quietly and go to sleep when they were out of the house… sounds too good to be true? Well, what happened in reality is that Speedy just kept getting bigger and bigger, livelier and livelier and ended up destroying their house. He had a small area outside (with only Astroturf and patio, no earth) where he uprooted the tiles and dug under the fence, inside he dug through the carpets and the floorboards. He was starting to chew through the furniture when the despairing owners could take it no more, and brought him to us in June 2016.
Pigs have an irrepressible urge to dig, and root through the earth. Speedy now lives outside, with the other pigs. He has his own pen and is free to dig to his heart’s content, like a real pig should be able to. We love Speedy! He, however, is far unlucky in love… his attempts to win over Lola (the girl-next-door) have so far been unsuccessful. Here is another link if you want to know a bit more about Speedy in the words of his previous owner, and some adorable pictures of him when he was young.
